This project was born from the desire to continue exploring the world through climbing. Our intention is to capture and share not only the spectacular nature of the sporting challenge but also the richness of sharing adventures with loved ones and the beauty of traveling to achieve a dream.
Charcobloc seeks to inspire our community to never stop trying to overcome their own limits and fulfill their dreams.

the psychobloc
Psychobloc, also known as deep-water soloing, is an exciting form of rock climbing performed without ropes or harnesses, over deep water. This style of climbing has its roots on the island of Mallorca, Spain, a paradise destination known for its cliffs and turquoise waters. The history of psicobloc in Mallorca began in 1978 when Miquel Riera, considered the “godfather of psicobloc”, began experimenting with bouldering problems over water at a place called Porto Pi, near Palma. Riera, then a young 15-year-old climber, explored this novel form of climbing in an era without the internet or online communities, which caused his discoveries to go unnoticed for two decades.

Tim Emmett is an internationally renowned British climber who has left an indelible mark on the world of psicobloc, particularly in Mallorca. In the early 2000s, Emmett discovered and explored the potential of Mallorca’s cliffs for psicobloc, attracting the international climbing community to this island paradise. His influence has been instrumental in popularising the discipline, showing the world the beauty and challenge of climbing above the sea without ropes or harnesses. In addition to his role in the development of psicobloc, Emmett has participated in numerous climbing expeditions and has contributed significantly to the literature and documentation of the sport.
